Introduction

Sunview Group Berhad is a Malaysian solar and renewable-energy group listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. Its subsidiaries carry out engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of solar photovoltaic facilities, and generate and supply solar power.

Walk Production was commissioned to design the 2024 annual report project, covering concept development, visual and layout design, visual data storytelling and print production. The report covers the financial year ended 31 March 2024 and runs to 200 pages.

Our Solutions

Concept and Visual Design

The report carries the theme Brightening Lives with Clean Energy. On the cover, a papercut-style scene sits inside a light bulb: a city skyline, a wind turbine, houses and rows of solar panels on green hills, with an orange sun behind them. Green leaves frame the bulb, and the words “Brightening Lives” are set in orange script lettering beneath it.

The same sunlit landscape opens the first two parts of the report, The Company and The Story, and sits above the corporate milestones timeline. The openers for governance, the financial statements and other information switch to grey backgrounds. All five openers set their titles in a large script that echoes the cover lettering.

Layout Design and Data Presentation

The contents page divides the report into five parts: The Company, The Story, How We Are Governed, The Financials and Other Information. The Story holds the Chairman’s Message, the management discussion and analysis and the Sustainability Statement, so the narrative sections sit together ahead of governance and the accounts.

Performance Highlights sets four headline figures in large circles, led by revenue of RM465.87 million, alongside net assets, awarded projects and the unbilled order book. A four-year table of key financials and ratios follows on the next page.

Corporate Milestones runs across a two-page spread from 2013 to 2024. It traces the group from its 2013 rooftop projects on residential and commercial buildings to large-scale solar plants and a first overseas EPCC contract, in Bulgaria.

Custom renewable-energy report infographic design carries the data inside the Sustainability Statement. One chart sets quarterly revenue, net profit and profit margin for FYE 2023 against FYE 2024, and further charts break the workforce down by gender, ethnicity and age.

Walk Production managed print production from pre-press preparation through to delivery of the finished report. Colour accuracy, paper selection and finishing specifications were coordinated to meet the company’s corporate reporting schedule.

The Results

The finished report gives Sunview’s shareholders the year in a clear order. Headline figures and the milestone timeline come first, the narrative follows in The Story, and governance and the audited financial statements sit in parts of their own.

Revenue for the year rose 34.26% to RM465.87 million, and the report carries that figure from the highlights page into the key financials table and the quarterly chart. Across 200 pages, the clean-energy landscape set on the cover returns on the first two section openers and the highlight pages.

What makes annual report design for renewable-energy companies distinctive?

Solar and renewable-energy annual reports typically feature approved project imagery, plant and installation imagery, and technical performance data alongside detailed financial reporting. Design must balance large-scale project visuals with financial statements and governance disclosures effectively. The visual approach needs to communicate both technical capability and corporate professionalism to diverse stakeholder audiences.

How is project portfolio data presented in annual reports?

Project portfolios are presented through approved imagery, project specifications, timeline summaries, and location information in structured formats. Visual layouts help stakeholders understand project scale, status, and geographic distribution across the company’s operations. Clear formatting allows readers to compare projects and assess the company’s operational breadth and capability at a glance.

Why is print quality important for annual reports?

Print quality reflects corporate standards and professionalism in the eyes of stakeholders, investors, and business partners. For listed companies, the annual report is a primary shareholder communication tool. Production quality directly influences perceptions of corporate credibility, attention to detail, and overall commitment to professional standards across all business communications.

What sections are typically included in a renewable-energy firm’s annual report?

Typical sections include financial statements, management discussion, project portfolio, corporate governance, sustainability reporting, board profiles, and market outlook commentary. These sections are structured to meet regulatory requirements while providing stakeholders with a full view of the company’s operational performance and strategic direction within the solar and renewable-energy sector.

How do infographics help communicate financial performance?

Infographics convert financial tables into visual formats such as charts, trend indicators, and comparison graphics for easier reader comprehension. This helps readers quickly identify key performance trends and year-on-year changes in results. Visual data presentations and supporting report copywriting make annual reports more accessible to non-financial stakeholders and support faster understanding of corporate performance.
