Introduction

MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad is a general insurance provider based in Malaysia. Walk Production was commissioned to create a series of motion graphic festive videos for the brand, covering art direction, custom illustration, storyboarding, animation, and video editing.

The brief called for festive videos that deliver seasonal greetings with creative visual storytelling during key cultural celebrations throughout the year. The project delivered a cohesive festive video series for motion graphic animation distribution across the company’s social media channels.

Our Solutions

Key visual and storyboard development

Each festive video began with a key visual that establishes the mood of the specific cultural occasion while staying connected to MSIG’s brand identity. Storyboards then mapped the narrative flow of each animation, planning how festive elements, brand messaging, and cultural references would unfold across its duration. That gave everyone clear creative direction before production began.

The creative approach varies from one festive occasion to the next, with distinct colour palettes, illustration styles, and visual motifs reflecting each celebration’s cultural character. A recognisable MSIG brand thread runs throughout the series, holding the visuals together while leaving room to treat each occasion on its own terms.

Custom illustration and graphic design

Custom illustrations were developed specifically for each festive video. Original artwork replaced generic stock imagery, giving the series a distinctive visual identity. The custom illustration design produced cultural symbols, festive traditions, and celebratory scenes with a style that feels both contemporary and culturally respectful.

The illustration style stays consistent enough that viewers recognise MSIG’s festive content as one campaign, yet each video keeps enough creative distinction to feel fresh and relevant to its occasion. That balance supports brand recall while keeping audiences engaged with new visual treatments each time.

Motion graphic animation and editing

The motion graphic animation brings static illustrations to life through fluid transitions, character movement, and typographic animation. Each video’s pacing is calibrated for social media viewing, with the festive greeting and brand messaging cut to short durations and the aspect ratios required by each platform.

Post-production editing refined timing, added sound design, and optimised each video for digital platform specifications. The final outputs are formatted for deployment across MSIG’s social media channels and digital communication touchpoints. Each video meets technical requirements for multiple platform formats.

The Results

The festive video series gives MSIG a library of branded seasonal content that supports year-round audience engagement across digital platforms. The custom illustration approach distinguishes the campaign from generic festive content.

Each video reinforces MSIG’s brand presence during high-traffic cultural moments. The culturally considerate creative approach helps each video connect authentically with its target audience while maintaining consistent brand standards throughout the series.

What are motion graphic videos?

Motion graphic videos use animated illustrations, typography, and graphic elements to tell visual stories. Unlike live-action video, motion graphics are entirely created through design and animation. This offers full creative control over visual style, messaging, and brand integration.

Why do brands create festive video content?

Festive video content connects brands with audiences during culturally significant moments when social media engagement peaks. These seasonal touchpoints build brand warmth and recall. They show audiences that the company participates in shared cultural celebrations throughout the year.

How does Walk Production approach culturally respectful content?

We research cultural traditions and visual references specific to each celebration. Original illustrations are developed to represent festive occasions authentically. This approach avoids stereotypical or generic imagery and instead creates visuals that resonate with cultural context and audience expectations.

Can motion graphic videos be produced as a series?

Yes. Producing festive content as a series allows brands to build a consistent visual identity across seasonal campaigns. A shared illustration style and brand framework creates recognition. Individual creative direction keeps each video fresh for returning viewers.

What platforms are festive videos optimised for?

Festive videos are typically optimised for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok via our social media marketing workflow. Each platform has different format specifications, aspect ratios, and optimal video lengths. We account for these requirements during production and deliver multiple format versions.
