Introduction
Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation is a government agency based in Malaysia, specialising in the development and promotion of the oil, gas, and energy services sector. MPRC supports Malaysian OGSE companies through industry programmes and market development initiatives.
MPRC needed a calendar that reflects the organisation’s mandate and industry positioning while functioning as a useful daily reference for recipients across the energy sector. The calendar was produced as part of a bundled publication project alongside MPRC’s Corporate Report.
Walk Production handled the complete custom calendar project. This integrated approach allowed us to maintain visual consistency between both publications.
Our Solutions
Concept development with industry focus
The calendar concept was developed to align with MPRC’s role as a catalyst for the Malaysian oil and gas industry. We selected themes that highlight key aspects of the sector, from upstream exploration to downstream processing. Each month has a distinct focus area while maintaining a unified visual narrative.
Stock photography was sourced and retouched to depict the scale of Malaysia’s petroleum sector. Image selection gave priority to operational imagery that communicates industry progress and technological capability.
Calendar and graphic design
The corporate desk calendar layout system accommodated both visual storytelling and functional calendar grids. Each spread pairs full-bleed industry photography with clean date layouts, using MPRC’s corporate colour palette to frame each monthly composition.
Graphic elements including section headers, month identifiers, and supplementary text panels were designed to complement the photographic content. Typography was selected for readability at desk-calendar viewing distances.
Copywriting and print production
Our corporate copywriting created content for each monthly spread, providing context about featured aspects of Malaysia’s oil and gas industry. The writing strikes a balance between informational value and brevity, appropriate for a calendar format.
Print production covered pre-press preparation, colour proofing, and a print run coordinated with the Corporate Report. The finished calendars were delivered alongside the report to streamline distribution logistics.
The Results
MPRC’s calendar functions as an industry showcase and practical corporate tool. The publication extends the organisation’s brand presence into the daily workspace of oil and gas professionals across Malaysia.
Bundling the calendar production with the Corporate Report project created efficiencies in design coordination and print logistics for the client.
